KFMA Fall Ball 2007
Well on Sunday 16th of this month I made the long drive to Tucson just to see The Smashing Pumpkins Live. The day started early in the morning around 7 am to get ready to go to Tucson. I was on my way to Tucson by 8:20 am. The drive to Tucson is the longest and most boring road I’ve ever been on it is long and absolutely no cars except for the occasional Wal-Mart truck. After a 3 and a half hour drive I get to Tucson.
Most of the off ramps for I-10 are close due to construction; they are expanding the highway from 2 to 3 lanes. Well I call my buddy Russell to give direction on how to get to the concert, he had looked up the directions on Yahoo maps, he tells me to get off on exit 263B which I did and then to take a right on some street that does not exist. That gets me lost for like 15 min in the ghetto until I drive back and find the right turn to Ajo Street. Finally I was we meet up and drive into the park. We get in line and we start feeling out of place since we were surrounded by 12 to 16 year girls and boys. After a half hour we got in and found the beer garden
The bands started playing at 1 pm opening with Scary Kids Scaring Kids. This band was decent opener to starts things off and a preview of what was going to come for the next 7 or 8 hours to come.
Scary Kids Scaring Kids
This band was your typical emo punk bands that scream a lot and have heavy beats. It was a good listen and came across as having potential. Here are some of the band here are pictures of the band that I took with my cell phone camera.
And here is a music video for those of you (like me) that have never heard them before.
Silverstein
Next up was Silverstein which I know a bit more than the last band. I actually own one of their albums because it was recommended by one of my ex co-worker from Best Buy. At this point in time I was getting ready to beat the shit out of some fucking kid that kept on moshing next to me. Same type of band as before here are pictures from my cell phone.
And here is a video.
Operator
This is a new metal band that actually rocked. These guys were bad ass and shit; their sound is a mix between Guns n’ Roses and Sound Garden. Highlight of the event was when the girls started to flash their boobs, sadly I was not able to take a picture, when they started to get into a fight among themselves, they guy stopping short of calling silver stein pussies and all the beer drinking. These guys rocked.

Paramore
Well this Avril Lavigne wannabe took way too much time to sound check. Russell and I after being trample by teen girls we decided to sit this one out. The way this girl fire ups the crowd is I think I took one picture of them I don’t know and don’t care to find out. So I will still a picture from KFMA

Against Me!
These guys blow. They suck so much that no one cared when they were playing. End of story
Cypress Hill
All the cholos came out for it and it was like shit. They pulled out a giant Buda with a Mary Jane leave in front. They went for a smoke while the Buda was being inflated. The closed the show with Rock Superstar.

The Smashing Pumpkins
What can I say I’ve been waiting for this since they first broke up in 2000. We got almost up to the front and after 40 min of sound check they finally came out. It was awesome first thing Billy Corgan knows how to pick his band mates. Starting with Ginger Reyes (She speaks Spanish) and Lisa Harriton. As the band was playing Tonight, Tonight it starts to fucking pour and we get all wet. We ran for cover but the time the song was over we were dripping wet. But it added a special climax to Tonight, Tonight. Then the bad walked out of the stage and we were all sad. We went to our cars and changed as the rain stopped I rolled down my window and realized that the pumpkins were still playing. We went back to hear them finish with half the people it was awesome. By the way Billy is incredibly white and tall. Great show!

The End
After all this we went to eat at In-N-Out Burger at 11 pm. Then I went and stayed at the Hilton best 150dlls I have spent.
